Radiation Sources

We discuss some main sources of everyday radiation(non-ionizing radiation).

All electronic gadgets emit electromagnetic radiation. Your personal radiation exposure relies upon on three matters:

•  Strength: levels of the energy of the radiation around you

•  Distance: Your distance from the radiation sources

•  Period: The time you spend exposed to the radiation source

Here are we discuss some most common radiation sources around us everyday.

Mobile telephones are one of the number one resources of everyday radiation. They function at excessive energy microwave frequencies, in particular while in use and while it try to find signal.

Because of speedy boom of mobile industry during the last 10 years, in US, there are actually more mobile phones than human beings. There is a great concern around mobile phone’s long-term health dangers because of the explosive and current boom of mobile phone utilization. In addition, there may be rising proof of the detrimental biological influences which includes genetic harm, hormonal changes, and modifications to neurotransmitters, changes to memory. Similarly, humans report signs from cellular telephone use which includes warmth, headache, dizziness, and confusion, reminiscence and concentration problems.

Laptops, computers and ipads are most important sources of everyday radiation because of high frequency and long period of use. The wireless indicators, cellular signals, electronics, and strength adapters are all enormous sources of radiation. The heat from laptops when directly are used towards the body is also a health concern.

Wireless laptops expose users to radiofrequency (wireless) radiation and exposure is highest when information is being transmitted to or from the computer. Laptops should never be rested on the body because of higher level of radiation.

Likewise, iPads use wireless connection so the user is exposed to radiation whenever records is being despatched or downloaded. Exposures are maximum when the iPad is downloading or transmitting records. Be sure to keep distance when using iPad not rest it on your body. More and more children use iPads everyday, be sure to turn on ‘airplane’ mode to minimise the radiation exposure.

Most people are exposed to radiation from mobile smartphone towers and wireless networks 24 hours a day, everyday. There are large amount of ambient radiation in our surroundings that were not present even 15 years in the past. These levels are growing each year as wi-fi networks play a bigger role in our lives.

Radiation from cellular towers and electricity strains is excessive at the source, but drops off dramatically with distance. These sources are of specific health concern when is near to work or home when people spend extended time exposure to it.

In addition, WiFi technologies are fairly new, we don’t understand the impacts of long-term exposure to it and it can takes decades before we do. However, already many people record health issues that coincide with their exposure to WiFi radiation such as warmth, headache, dizziness, and confusion, reminiscence and concentration problems.

Cordless phones emit radio frequency (wireless) radiation similar to that emitted by cell phones, so all the health problems and concern that have been associated with cell phone radiation also apply to cordless phones.

There are three main reasons why cordless phones may be more of problem than cell phones:

  • most cordless phones don’t have adaptive power control
  • the cradles for many cordless phones continuously emit radiofrequency even when no call is being made and this radiation penetrates walls
  • majority of people spend longer on their cordless phones than they do on their mobiles

All electronic gadgets and appliances emit certain levels of radiation. The amount of exposure from these types of gadgets and appliances is lower than that of cell telephones and laptops due to the fact both the length of exposure is low.

For example, Microwave ovens emit very high levels of radiation (this is how it cook food so quickly), but now all standard microwaves has been constructed with built-in shielding that blocks maximum of this radiation. But, it is still better to keep some distance from microwaves when it is operating to minimise the radiation exposure.
